The Effect of the Team Games Tournament Type Cooperative Learning Model on Student Learning Outcomes in Mathematics Subjects in Grade Four of Public Elementary Schools Biro
This study aims to determine the influence of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) type cooperative learning model on student learning outcomes in Mathematics subjects in grade IV of SD Negeri Biro. The method used is quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample of this study amounted to 22 grade IV students. The data collection technique uses tests and observations, with test instruments in the form of multiple-choice questions as many as 10 items that have been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was carried out with the Wilcoxon test using the help of SPSS because the data was not distributed normally. The results showed an increase in student learning outcomes after the TGT learning model was applied, with the average posttest score (54.09) higher than the pretest (35.45). The results of the Wilcoxon test showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 which means that there is a significant influence of the use of the TGT model on students' mathematics learning outcomes. In addition, the results of observations show an increase in student involvement and enthusiasm in the learning process. Thus, the TGT model is effective in improving the learning outcomes of grade IV students in broad measurement materials.
