The pastoral care of the Servant of God Bishop Ignacy Świrski for sobriety of the faithful The pastoral care of bishop Ignacy Świrski for the spiritual and moral life of the people of God entrusted to him in the diocese of Siedlce in the years 1946-68 was one of the priorities of the pastoral ministry of the Servant of God. Bishop Ignacy took special care of people suffering from alcoholism and their families. The article presents how bishop Ignacy noticed and repeatedly showed the real danger of alcohol abuse. The study based on the pastoral letters of bishop Świrski also contains many proposals for pastoral initiatives undertaken by the Servant of God in the fight against sobriety, encouraging the priests for whom he was a bishop.
