A Sociological Study of the Impact of Mid-Day Meal Program on Nutritional Growth of Rural Children
Abstract:- The Mid-Day Meal (MDM) program, introduced in India to address malnutrition and increase school enrolment ratio, plays a crucial role in improving the nutritional status of rural children. This study examines the sociological impact of the MDM program on the nutritional growth of rural children, focusing on dietary diversity, community engagement, and socio-economic factors. Data collected through surveys and secondary research reveals that the program has positively influenced children’s health and school attendance, though challenges such as quality control and inequality persist. Recommendations are made for enhancing the program’s effectiveness and sustainability.
