Models of extracurricular support for primary school students with autism spectrum disorders in the context of inclusive education
Models of extracurricular support for primary school students with autism spectrum disorders in the context of inclusive educationExtracurricular support is a vital component of inclusive education, contributing to the successful adaptation and development of primary school students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) in mainstream educational settings. The aim of this study is to investigate the most effective models of extracurricular support for students with ASD, assessing their role and implementation within the framework of inclusive education. The research combines theoretical analysis with empirical data gathered through interviews with teachers and support staff, alongside an evaluation of school practices.Findings reveal that structured extracurricular support activities—such as professional consultations, social skills groups, and individualized mentoring—significantly enhance students' inclusion and emotional well-being. However, challenges remain, including limited resource availability and insufficient collaboration between schools and families. The study highlights the need for a systematic approach to organizing extracurricular support in order to promote effective inclusion and create a sustainable support environment for students with ASD. The results may serve as a basis for developing methodological recommendations and informing educational policy improvements in inclusive education.
