Role of seed surface features in taxonomy and espial of adulterations in crude herbal drugs of plant origin
Present paper communicates 51 species of angiosperms depicting characteristics of seeds such as color, texture, shape, size and hilum (if any). Seed morphological characters are very important in plant identifications in field and even helpful to place taxa as its phylogenetic (evolutionary) status. Seed surface features play significant role in taxonomy and also to identify adulterations if any, in crude herbal drugs of plant origin. Firsthand information provided in this research article is gathered from field.
