Retail Uplift Programme: A Scalable AI-Driven Skilling Model for India's 2 Crore Kirana Stores
India’s 2 crore kirana stores are the foundation of its consumer economy — yet remain largely excluded from national skilling programmes, AI adoption, and digital transformation. The BWG Retail Uplift Programme proposes a nation-wide, modular, and scalable initiative to uplift retail micro-enterprises through structured learning, AI tools, private label creation, and credit enablement. This paper outlines a comprehensive 11-section programme architecture — from policy alignment and skill modules to rollout roadmaps, stakeholder integration, and impact metrics. We invite: Government bodies (NITI Aayog, MSDE, NSDC) FMCG giants and POS providers NGOs, CAs, and skill partners Academic institutions (IIMs, IITs, NCAER) International think tanks focused on MSME & retail Foundations supporting livelihood & digital equity to review, critique, collaborate, and contribute toward this bold vision of creating “AI-Ready Kirana Networks” that boost GDP, jobs, and grassroots innovation. This version (v1.0) is a living document. A companion podcast series (Beyond the Horizon, Season 1) is available on Spotify, bringing narrative context, stakeholder voices, and systemic insights to this paper’s themes. Let us co-create the world’s first recursive retail transformation at scale. 📮 Contact:[email protected](For feedback, collaboration requests, or pilot deployments) 📢 Spotify Podcast:Beyond the Horizon – Season 1: The Future of Commerce in a Post-AI Worldhttps://open.spotify.com/show/3U1LIp7FYK4LKxfC8GrVMa
