Abstract The article is devoted to the study of historical disciplines of the Russian language, in particular, historical phonetics, in the Georgian audience of a Georgian university. The author examines the specifics of presenting historical facts of a foreign language in the Georgian audience of a university, where possible draws parallels with the facts of the national language, including at the present stage.
