Sol-Gel Synthesis of Zn₁₋ₓCoₓO: Structural, Microstructural, And Thermoelectric Property Enhancements
Abstract:- Reduced thermal conductivity, low resistance to electrical current, and a highSeebeck coefficient are the features of ZnO-based thermoelectric materials. The thermoelectricfeatures can be increased by doping ZnO with CO. The Sol-Gel synthesis has been employedfor generating Zn 1-x CO x O (x = 0.1, 0.2, and 0.3) material. X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) is applied toevaluate the structure of a crystal. Using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), themicrostructure has been studied. The stable state methodology has been employed for measuringthe resistance to electrical current and Seebeck coefficient. In accordance with the our study, theZn 0.9 CO 0.1O , Zn 0.8 CO 0.2 O, and Zn 0.7 CO 0.3 O phase patterns determined by XRD, establishing ahexagonal structural stability. On the basis of SEM information shortly after sintering processthe materials' size distribution configuration altered. The comparison of ZnO, with thethermoelectric characteristics of Zn 1-x CO x O (x = 0.1, 0.2, and 0.3) had a Seebeck coefficient atthe highest point of -2442 µV/K condition of Zn 0.8 CO 0.2 O, which is allowed to improve on aSeebeck coefficient that reached a maximum of - 474 µV/K of ZnO, and a magnetic resistivityvalue of 57.02 Ω∙m, which was up from 5.72 Ω∙m at 473 K the requirements of Zn 0.7 CO 0.3 O. Alldoping decreased the powder-like component. The materials' validity as n-type materials that arethermoelectric, particularly belonging to the semiconductor category, was confirmed.
