HOW CAN EMOTIONAL CULTIVATION BE CARRIED OUT TO IMPROVE STU-DENTS' ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE

Abstract This article aims to explore how to improve students' academic performance through emotional cultivation. By analyzing the intrinsic connection between emotions and academic performance, clarify the promoting effect of positive emotions on learning motivation, cognitive ability and other aspects, as well as the obstructive influence of negative emotions. Based on the research results of positive psychology and educational neuroscience (Pekrun et al., 2017; Immordino-Yang, 2016, systematically analyzed the neural mechanisms of emotions and academic performance and proposed a dual-track cultivation model of "cognition - emotion". Empirical data show that systematic emotional intervention can increase students' average grades by 12-15% (Durlak et al., 2011). On this basis, multi-dimensional emotional cultivation strategies including schools, families and students themselves are proposed to provide theoretical references and practical guidance for improving students' academic performance.
