Positive Statistics and Sustainable Development in Iraq: Infrastructure Indicators Toward a Smart Future
This study analyzes the current state of basic infrastructure in Iraq by applying the Positive Statistics Methodology (Al-Jassar, 2025b). It examines indicators such as housing tenure, piped water access, sanitation, and municipal waste management. Using data from Iraq’s 2024–2025 census and GIS systems, the study highlights areas of positive progress through two key indicators: the Positive Empowerment Index (PEI) and the Coverage Index (CI). The composite positive achievement score (CPAI) across all indicators is 70.10. The study concludes with targeted recommendations for leveraging smart technologies and innovation to improve infrastructure equity and sustainability.
