Political participation and Women empowerment
AbstractPolitical participation is a critical pathway to achieving women’s empowerment, as it enables women to contribute to decision-making processes and influence public policy. However, despite global progress in increasing women’s representation in politics, significant challenges remain. This article explores the dynamics between women’s political participation and their empowerment across various political systems. It examines the barriers hindering women’s full engagement, such as socio-cultural norms, lack of access to resources, and institutionalized gender biases. The article also highlights success stories where women's political involvement has led to positive societal changes, thereby reinforcing the importance of inclusive governance.
