Intelligence, Solitude, and Social Authenticity: The Paradox of Social Engagement
In today's fast-paced, hyper-connected world, the very trait that fuels deep insight - intelligence - can also render social interactions a source of disillusionment. This article systematically reviews interdisciplinary research and philosophical insights to explore how highly intelligent individuals often find solace in solitude and pursue authentic engagement over superficial social interactions. Drawing on the ideas of Arthur Schopenhauer and empirical findings in psychology and media studies, we examine the paradox where seeking truth sometimes necessitates withdrawing from the noisy demands of societal conformity.
