Family Ferganoceratidae Ruzhencev, 1960 Remarks Ruzhencev & Bogoslovskaya (1971: 330) were uncertain about the origin of the family Ferganoceratidae (translated from Russian): “The origin of the family is not entirely clear. Apparently, the genus Ferganoceras is related to Neoglyphioceras, because the conch shape and the general character of the suture line are similar.” The possible ancestry of these forms is discussed below.
