Paper 51: QCD from Coherence: Virtual Strain Packets and Pion Mediation of the Strong Force in the Holosphere Lattice
We present a coherence-based reformulation of quantum chromodynamics (QCD) in the framework of Holosphere Theory, where all interactions arise from angular strain exchange across a discrete, rotating lattice of nested neutron Compton wavelength size-scale Holospheres. In this model, the strong force is mediated not by virtual gluons in a quantum field but by virtual strain packets—localized angular distortions that propagate between triplet-structured defects via coherence transfer. These strain packets emerge naturally from orbital misalignments in multi-defect systems and behave as quantized mediators of lattice tension and phase reconfiguration. We show how color charge, triplet coherence structure, and confinement arise from the symmetry constraints governing strain propagation. Crucially, we derive the pion as an emergent resonance formed by oscillating coherence packets between defects, providing a lattice-grounded model of meson exchange and nuclear binding. The theory predicts a natural cutoff to color field extension, explains asymptotic freedom through angular coherence thresholds, and describes quark confinement as a topological resonance trapping coherence within bounded Holosphere clusters. This approach reproduces the phenomenology of the strong force while replacing abstract gauge fields with physically real, testable coherence dynamics. This paper lays the foundation for a full coherence-based model of hadronic structure, extending Holosphere Theory into the QCD regime and preparing the framework for emergent baryons, color triplets, and pion-bound states developed in Papers 52 and 53.
