OPTIMIZATION OF A REVERSE LOGISTICS NETWORK FOR ENERGY RECOVERY UNDER ENVIRONMENTAL CONSTRAINTS

Implementing sustainable logistics today represents a performance challenge and a competitive advantage for most companies. One of the current global challenges that concerns many scientists is the massive rate of waste that is increasing day by day. In this mixed context of environmental regulations and customer requirements, researchers and scientists are trying to find innovative approaches to meet this challenge with a greater emphasis on waste management and recycling. The circular economy, on the other hand, aims to reduce waste as much as possible and promote sustainable use of natural resources, through smarter design of products, longer use, recycling, as well as regenerating nature. Given the trends in global economic development, this widespread concern represents a valuable opportunity to contribute to the sustainability of supply chains through the optimal use of existing resources, or even a replacement of these resources with renewable consumption which leads to reducing environmental pollution. (reduce CO2 emissions), and adapt to economic constraints (minimization of costs). In the industrial sector, end-of-life product management is one of the effective solutions that allows manufacturers to ensure recovery and treatment used products. The objective of this work is to propose a logistics chain reverse dedicated to the collection, sorting and treatment of household waste in the city of Tlemcen, this minimizes both transport costs and waste volumes, and reduces CO2 emissions by providing a source for domestic consumption.
