This species resembles H. adela in shell size, surface sculpture and colouration. However, in H. adela, the angular and parietal lamellae are separated, the barriers are generally stronger and the last whorl is always at least slightly descending (slightly ascending in H. cucumense). See also under H. populare sp. nov. and H. khaochongpran. Distribution. This species is known from the type locality and its immediate surroundings.
