The article discusses the results and prospects of development under the new national project "Ecology", including the task to achieve the indicator of emissions neutralization and waste utilization in accordance with the national goal "Environmental Well-Being" defined in Decree №. 309. It is shown that important progress has been made in the implementation of projects aimed at eliminating the most hazardous facilities that pose a threat to the environment. The main attention is paid to industrial waste landfills, where a unique technological system has been created to neutralize and process waste accumulated in these areas. The National Environmental Project serves as a benchmark for the creation of a comprehensive municipal waste management system, which includes the elimination of landfills and the restoration of the land where they were located. It is also planned to establish treatment of hazardous waste, which cannot be neutralized under normal conditions.
