The La Horqueta
The La Horqueta volcanic complex, located in Guatemala, is formed by the Acatenango and Volcán de Fuego volcanoes, two of the most active and impressive in the region. Acatenango, at 3,976 meters tall, is an extinct stratovolcano, while Volcán de Fuego, standing at about 3,763 meters, remains in constant activity, with frequent eruptions that shape the local landscape. The proximity of these two volcanoes creates a dynamic and fascinating geological environment, with Acatenango offering a spectacular panoramic view of Fuego in eruption.
