Cobososia pruinosa subsp. pruinosa

Cobososia pruinosa pruinosa (Kiesenwetter, 1861) Otolelus pruinosus Kiesenwetter, 1861 [sic!]: Samin et al. 2018: 263. Otolelus pruinosus (Kiesenwetter, 1861): Klinger 2000: 276-277. Cobososia pruinosa pruinosa (Kiesenwetter, 1861): Nardi 2020: 627. Distribution in Iran. Sistan & Baluchestan (Samin et al. 2018). General distribution. Algeria, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, "Caucasus", Croatia, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iran, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia (Central European Territory, South European Territory), Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, Uzbekistan. Notes. This species was for a long time confused with Cobososia semiobscura (Pic, 1893) and C. symphoniaca (Klinger, 2000) (Klinger 2000). Cobososia Collado & Alonso Zarazaga, 1996: 98 was established by validation of Cobososia Báguena-Corella, 1962: 37 (nomen nudum). To the complex nomenclatural history of these names (Collado & Alonso Zarazaga 1996; Nardi 2001; Gompel et al. 2010; Alonso Zarazaga 2010), it is necessary to add an incorrect subsequent spelling (ICZN 1999, Art. 33.3) of the latter name: Cobosia [sic!] (Franz 1987: 102). Franz (1987) wrote Cobosia [sic!] pallescens Woll. [sic!] instead of Cobososia pallescens (Wollaston, 1854). Fortunately, Cobosia [sic!] is invalid, being an incorrect subsequent spelling of Cobososia Báguena-Corella, 1962 (nomen nudum), so there are no nomenclatural problems for Cobososia Collado & Alonso Zarazaga, 1996.
