Cultural Differences and Their Impact on Intercultural Communication of Immigrants from Ukraine and CIS Countries in Korea
In today's globalized world, issues of intercultural communication are becoming increasingly significant, particularly for immigrants who face adaptation in new cultural environments. This research focuses on the analysis of cultural differences and their impact on the process of intercultural communication among immigrants from Ukraine and CIS countries in South Korea. The study emphasizes key aspects of cultural interaction, such as language barriers, differences in social norms and traditions, as well as perceptions of cultural identity. The research is based on methods of interviewing, surveying, and data analysis collected from representatives of the Ukrainian and Russian-speaking diaspora living in Korea. Special attention is given to the specifics of Korean culture, including Confucian values, collectivism, and hierarchy, as well as how these elements influence immigrants' adaptation and communication strategies.
