Dataset on wing morphometrics and landscape metrics of Trypoxylon lactitarse in the Brazilian Atlantic Forest
Dataset on wing morphometrics and landscape metrics of Trypoxylon lactitarse in the Brazilian Atlantic Forest This dataset accompanies the manuscript entitled "Influence of Forest Cover and Sex on Wing Size and Shape of a Spider-Hunting Wasp in the Brazilian Atlantic Forest" that is currently under peer review and has not yet been published. It includes geometric morphometric data on wing shape and size (centroid size and Procrustes coordinates) for male and female individuals of Trypoxylon lactitarse, collected using artificial trap-nests. Landscape metrics such as forest cover, landscape heterogeneity (SHDI), structural connectivity, and edge density were extracted from land cover data (MapBiomas) and associated with each sampling unit. Morphometric analyses were conducted separately by sex using centroid size for wing size, and Procrustes superimposition followed by Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Canonical Variate Analysis (CVA) for wing shape. Multivariate statistics (MANOVA and GLMM) were used to test the effects of landscape metrics on morphology. Wing morphometrics were processed using MorphoJ v1.06, and statistical analyses were performed in R v4.1.2. The dataset contains all variables used in these analyses, including the derived canonical shape variable for GLMM input.
