International Religious Education Comparisons, Türkiye, Germany, Saudi Arabia Comparison and Theoretical/Practical Weights and Social Impacts

The Presidency of Religious Affairs has been one of the most important institutions providing religious services since the establishment of the Republic of Türkiye. Established in 1924, this institution has undertaken a mission to determine the place of religion in the social structure and daily life. The existence of the Religion is not limited to the provision of religious services but also aims to help strengthen social unity and preserve the secular nature of the state. The role of the Diante is multifaceted within Türkiye’s relationship between religion and state. In this context, Diante’s duties include providing religious education, organizing official religious ceremonies, and planning activities to raise religious awareness in society. However, another important dimension of the Diante is its efforts to establish social peace and tolerance. Therefore, the impact of the Religion within the social structure becomes an issue that needs to be carefully scrutinized. The Presidency of Religious Affairs is obliged to maintain a sound relationship with Türkiye’s secular structure. While the principle of secularism refers to the separation of religion and state, it is also of immense importance in terms of the rules and norms governing social life. Within this framework, the Religion aims to respect different beliefs and lifestyles, support pluralism and embrace social diversity.
