Bilgi ve Bilim Sosyolojisi Perspektifinden İç Göç, Gecekondu ve Toplumsal Uyum: Bir Yudum Sevgi Filmi Örneği

This study examines the role of cinema in the production of social knowledge from the perspective of the sociology of knowledge and science, focusing on the 1984 film Bir Yudum Sevgi (A Sip of Love) to explore internal migration, informal housing (gecekondu), and processes of adaptation to urban life in Türkiye. Migration is not merely a spatial phenomenon; it is a multilayered process that transforms social structures, class relations, and forms of knowledge. The film is analyzed as a cultural vehicle of sociological knowledge production through its representation of new ways of life, class positioning, and gender roles emerging in gecekondu neighborhoods shaped by migration. Within the scope of this qualitative research, content analysis is employed as the main method, and concepts such as the social production of space (Lefebvre), class and labor relations (Marx), cultural capital (Bourdieu), and gender (feminist theory) are used as the analytical framework. The everyday practices of the characters, their positions within the world of work, and their relationship with the city are examined in the context of cinema’s function as a producer of knowledge. In this regard, the study demonstrates that cinema is not only a narrative medium but also a domain for representing and reproducing social reality.
