"THE ROLE OF DIGITAL INFRASTRUCTURE IN ENHANCING QUALITY OF LIFE IN SMALL SMART CITIES: PERSPECTIVES FROM ASAYISH TOWNSHIP, BALKH"

Using the example of the ASAYISH Township, which is slated for development in the Balkh region of Afghanistan, this article examines the potential role of digital infrastructure in boosting the quality of life in tiny smart cities. A mixed-methods approach is used in the study, which also includes interviews with important stakeholders and a review of pertinent literature. The findings indicate that while developing and implementing digital infrastructure presents a number of problems, it has the potential to greatly raise the quality of life in tiny smart communities.
