Cybersecurity Workshop Slimme Apparaten

Organized by Veerle van Harten and chaired by Michel van Eeten, the workshop brought together stakeholders from a Dutch cybersecurity campaign to discuss and identify ways to improve support for users in securing their smart devices. During the sessions, it was explored how to better support users in securing their smart devices. Key topics included findings from prior research on the limitations of current security advice, brainstorming improvements, and discussing practical barriers. Participants concluded that while general advice has shortcomings, it remains necessary. Automation and regulation were identified as potential solutions.
