DIGITIZING THE GREEN REVOLUTION E-COMMERCE AS A CATALYST FOR CLEAN ENERGY ADOPTION IN RURAL AREAS

The increasing role of e-commerce in promoting clean energy adoption in rural areas represents a significant step toward global sustainability. This article explores how digital platforms facilitate access to renewable energy technologies, innovative financing solutions, and supply chain optimizations, enabling off-grid communities to transition toward sustainable energy sources. Case studies of companies such as d.light, M-KOPA Solar, and Solar Sister highlight successful implementations of e-commerce-driven clean energy initiatives. Despite its potential, the digital divide, regulatory barriers, and consumer trust issues remain key challenges that hinder large-scale adoption. The article also discusses opportunities for growth, including partnerships with telecommunications companies, community-driven approaches, and policy reforms. Addressing these challenges can help maximize the impact of e-commerce in the green revolution, making clean energy accessible to the most underserved populations.
