OPERATIONAL READINESS IN UAV PILOTING: A MULTIFACETED APPROACH TO HUMAN FACTORS AND PERFORMANCE

It is of paramount importance that unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) pilots be fully prepared for their duties in order to ensure the efficacy and safety of operations. This study examines the pivotal elements that shape operational readiness, including cognitive load management, situational awareness, training proficiency, stress management, decision-making, communication, adaptability, risk management, and regulatory compliance. It is imperative to address these human factors not only in the context of UAV piloting but also in the broader domain of high-stress, technology-driven roles. The findings recommend a comprehensive approach to enhance readiness, which should include technical training, psychological preparation, stress management, and cognitive function maintenance. Future research should concentrate on the development of adaptive training systems, biometric monitoring, the integration of AI, enhanced human-machine interfaces, and immersive training technologies. As technology advances, the significance of human factors in operational readiness will persistently increase, emphasizing the necessity for continuous research and revised training methodologies.
