District Fellowship and Church Growth: A Case of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria
The researcher investigated the influence of district fellowship on Church growth in the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria. The main objective of the study was to examine the influence of district fellowship on Church growth in the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria. Quantitative research design was adopted for this study. The researcher made use of Primary data that was collected from members of the church under study using structured online questionnaire. The study population comprised of worshipers in Parishes within Northern Calabar Synod of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria. Since it was not possible to obtain an exact count of individuals in this group, the study treated the population size as indeterminate. Since the population of virtual bank users could not be determined as at the time of this study, and considered indeterminate, the sample size of this research was determined using the Top-man Formula for indeterminate population. The sample was 361 worshippers. Data from the field was analysed using simple linear regression analysis to determine the influence of the independent variables on the dependent variable. The study concluded that welfare system and Lay development are all key elements of district fellowship which enhances Church growth and further recommended that Welfare of members should be prioritized through the leadership of the district.
