AN ALTERNATIVE TO THE SURGICAL METHOD OF TREATING PATIENTS WITH SUPRACONDYLAR EXTENSOR FRACTURES OF THE HUMERUS WITH UNRESOLVED DISPLACEMENT AND SIGNIFICANT EDEMA

The treatment of patients with supracondylar extensor fractures of the humerus with unresolved displacement and significant edema is an urgent problem in pediatric traumatology. This is due to the fact that conservative treatment of this injury in the form of skeletal traction takes a considerable period of time and is extremely inconvenient for the patient. Surgical treatment for this pathology is impossible, since damage to the skin in the form of epidermal blisters makes it impossible not only to make an incision of the skin to perform an open reposition, but also to use knitting needles to fix the fragment. We propose an alternative method of surgical treatment for the treatment of patients with supracondylar extensor fractures of the humerus with unresolved displacement and significant edema. An analysis of the immediate and long-term treatment outcomes of 68 pediatric patients showed that the developed treatment method significantly reduces the duration of hospital treatment.
