How Big is Archaeology? CRM's place in Environmental and Sustainability Consulting

Conference paper presented to the Society for American Archaeology. Commercial archaeology—CRM—has been recognized as being a billion dollar industry in the United States for some years now. But archaeological services are just one small part of the wider architecture / engineering / construction and environment and sustainability consulting milieus. This paper reviews the scale of CRM in the United States and around the world, and will directly examines where CRM is being delivered by the global players in environmental and sustainability consulting.
