Synaphosus Platnick & Shadab 1980
* GenusSynaphosusPlatnick & Shadab, 1980 Comments. Synaphosus is a relatively large genus of small spiders, with 36 accepted species mainly distributed in the Palaearctic (WSC 2024). Males of this genus differ from those of the closely related Cryptodrassus Miller, 1943, by the presence of a translucent flange on the male palp and larger embolus, while females have strongly coiled insemination ducts. Until recently, a single species, S. palearcticus Ovtsharenko, Levy & Platnick, 1994, was recorded in the Caucasus (Armenia, Azerbaijan) (Otto 2022).
