226. Ficus scabrida Pittier. Bol. Soc. Venez. Ci. Nat. 4(30): 68. 1937. TYPE:— VENEZUELA. Lara: Baragua, Maporito, 6 October 1927, P. Christ 49 (lectotype, designated here: VEN–439 [digital image!]; isolectotypes: NY–01085446!, US–00090244!). Nomenclatural notes:— Pittier (1937) described this taxon based on Christ 49, but did not specify a herbarium, thus making all specimens of that gathering syntypes (ICN, Art. 40.2 Note 1). We designate VEN439 as the lectotype because it represents the most complete and diagnostic specimen.
