Investigation of Brinell Hardness in Alloy Elements

The mechanical properties of alloy elements are critical for their application in various engineering fields. Brinell hardness testing is widely employed to assess the hardness and deformation resistance of materials, providing insights into their performance under load. This study investigates the Brinell hardness of a selection of alloys with varying compositions, focusing on the impact of alloying elements and microstructural changes on hardness values. Experimental results are supported by microstructural analysis, highlighting correlations between elemental composition, grain structure, and mechanical performance. The findings reveal significant dependencies between hardness and key alloying components such as carbon, chromium, and manganese. These results offer valuable data for optimizing material design and enhancing the performance of alloys in industrial applications.
