Chronon Field Theory: Unification of Gravity and Gauge Interactions via Temporal Flow Dynamics
We introduce Chronon Field Theory (CFT), a unified framework in which the fundamental field is a unit-norm, future-directed timelike vector Phi^mu(x) representing the local direction and coherence of temporal flow, termed the "Real Now." Unlike conventional quantum field theories, where particles are postulated and spacetime is fixed, CFT treats time itself as a causal, evolving field from which matter, forces, and geometry emerge. In this formulation, gravitational, gauge, and matter phenomena arise from distinct deformation modes of Phi^mu: gravity from large-scale coherent curvature; electromagnetism from local U(1) phase rotations; weak interactions from parity-violating shear; and strong interactions from topological flux tubes. Fermions are modeled as topological solitons classified by pi_3(S^3), with spin, mass, and quantum statistics arising from internal winding structures. The Higgs mechanism is replaced by mass generation via Chronon field deformation energy. CFT is shown to be canonically quantizable and perturbatively renormalizable at one loop. It reproduces standard model results in the low-energy limit and predicts observable deviations in scattering amplitudes and hadronization. Large-scale lattice simulations of Chronon dynamics reveal the spontaneous formation of stable, quantized solitons—providing computational evidence that matter may emerge from the topology of time itself. CFT is canonically quantizable, perturbatively renormalizable, and intrinsically finite due to its smooth solitonic structure—eliminating ultraviolet divergences without counterterms. Chronon Field Theory thus offers a first-principles reformulation of fundamental physics grounded in the dynamics and geometry of time. It fulfills key aspects of Einstein’s vision of unification and opens a new simulation-based paradigm for discovering high-energy phenomena beyond collider experiments.
