Environmental Conservation and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) from an Economic Perspective: An Indian Context
Abstract The research paper explores the economics facet of environmental conservation and sustainable development goals (SDGs) from the lens of India’s journey, what does it face, and what has it achieved. The document assesses the economic consequences of environmental harm from factors like climate change, pollution, and the decline of biodiversity while showing the financial advantages of protecting the environment, including the creation of jobs, enhanced productivity, and better public health. Success case studies from India such as renewable energy projects, eco-tourism initiatives, and waste management strategies are discussed to prove that environmental protection and economic growth are not mutually exclusive. The paper finally includes policy recommendations to ensure a balance between environmental sustainability and economic growth in India
