Anthophora (Micranthophora) curta Provancher 1895
Anthophora (Micranthophora) curta Provancher, 1895 [Lectotype: ULQC; ♀ Los Angeles, California, USA] Anthophora curta is widely distributed in the southwestern USA and northern Mexico (Orr et al. 2018), and is one of the most abundant bee species of the BCP. This species specializes on the pollen from a broad number of hosts in the family Asteraceae (Orr et al. 2018). Preserved specimens from the BCP are vouchered in many collections including: BBSL, LACM, CSCA, CASC, SEMC, ASUHIC, TAMU (GBIF 2023; SCAN 2023). We examined 16 specimens (9 ♀, 7 ♂) from CASC. This species has been recorded in all ecoregions of the BCP during this project fieldwork with a wide foraging season from March to November and specimens are vouchered at MABC, and ECOAB (Supplementary material 1). See fig. 72.
