THE INFLUENCE OF LISTENING PODCAST AND WATCHING VIDEOS ON AUDITORY COMPREHENSION AMONG ENGLISH LEARNERS

This study investigated the impact of YouTube and video podcasts on listening comprehension in 40 Malaysian Year 4 ESL students. Using a pre-post test design with observations and focus groups (though primarily analyzing pre/post test data), the study found significantly improved listening comprehension scores following intervention. Qualitative data suggested increased student participation, teamwork, engagement, and motivation. However, the omission of detailed qualitative analysis limits the study's depth. Further research should include a control group and a more thorough analysis of qualitative data.
