Implementation Of A Wireless Human Hand Gesture Controlled Robotic Arm

Abstract: This project introduces an innovative gesture-controlled robotic arm designed to seamlessly interpret and respond to human hand movements, enabling hands-free operation without the need for traditional manual controls. The system utilizes a web camera to detect gestures, which are then processed in real time to control the robotic arm’s functions. A Raspberry Pi handles the image processing and gesture recognition, while an Arduino microcontroller manages the movement of the arm. The arm itself is driven by multiple servo motors and includes a metal detector and buzzer, which provide essential feedback and enhance safety during operation. Zigbee modules facilitate wireless communication between the components, ensuring smooth and reliable data transmission. Power is supplied through a combination of batteries and adapters, ensuring the system remains operational without interruption. This setup allows the robotic arm to be used in a wide range of applications, such as remote operations in hazardous environments, support in prototyping tasks, and as an assistive tool for individuals with mobility limitations. By merging gesture recognition with robotic manipulation, the project showcases a practical approach to creating intuitive, wireless, and responsive robotic systems suitable for both personal and industrial use.
