Neorthopleura thoracica

Neorthopleura thoracica (Say, 1823) Collection information. USA: Georgia: Clarke Co.: 11 individuals from seven sites. Caught in flight trap from 6 May – 14 July 2020. Distribution. Eastern North America. Saproxylic habits. Larvae and adults prey on bark and woodboring beetles in various hardwood trees, especially oak (Böving and Champlain 1920; Ulyshen and Hanula 2009 a). Conservation. Occurrence probability increases with the amount of landscape forest cover in the Piedmont (Traylor et al. 2024).
