The African Man in Ethnographic Cinema: A Study of Documentary Achievements
The African man has largely maintained his form and traditions despite urbanization, striving to preserve his cultural heritage and mythical beliefs that have characterized his way of life. Most of his traditions and living conditions are characterized by simplicity, as he has been and continues to be content with minimal sustenance and wears only goatskin or half a jacket in some tribes that maintain the authenticity of their cultural heritage. Moreover, he does not favor a life of isolation but lives in social harmony without expectation of return. This study focuses on describing the way of life of the African man and what the artistic achievements documented through ethnographic cinema reveal to us.
