Selections as an innovative practice in agricultural development

The object of the study is the content of breeding methods as an innovative practice for thedevelopment of the agricultural sector. The subject of the study is the substantive changes in breeding methods in agricultural production. The purpose of the study is to trace the evolution of the content of innovative breeding practicesin agriculture from primitive to biotechnical breeding methods to deepen this knowledge in society forthe correct perception of modern innovative practice in agricultural production. The scientific novelty consists in the systematization of scientific views on the content of selectionmethods in agricultural production, substantiation of their innovativeness to deepen the correct publicperception of their results. The practical value of the obtained results lies in the possibility of their use to deepen the correctpublic perception of information on modern innovations in agricultural production, in particular GMOs.Conclusions. It is emphasized that the world’s population is growing at an accelerated pace, whichrequires a corresponding increase in the volume of agricultural products for food production. Thecontent of innovative breeding practices was investigated as a branch of agricultural production andone of the effective innovative tools that can significantly affect the yield of agricultural crops, supportthe quality of the natural environment, increase the efficiency of agricultural production and ensure theimprovement of socio–economic living conditions of the population in rural areas, which correspondsto the successful development of the agricultural sector in the context of a two–vector innovativemodel of its development. The advantages and disadvantages of each of the innovative breedingpractices are identified. It is noted that the presence of advantages has already been proven, and thedisadvantages are considered only potential and require long–term research. The conclusion is madethat each person should form a correct perception of information regarding the use of food productscontaining GMOs and make their own conclusions and choices.
