Impressão 3D nas escolas brasileiras: uma ferramenta útil para o ensino de ciências?
3D printing has emerged as a promising tool in education by enabling the creation of highlyprecise physical models. This technology facilitates the visualization of complex structuresand processes, supporting the teaching-learning process across various fields such as health, engineering, and education. Although 3D printing is widely used in higher education, especially in health and engineering courses, its application in elementary education remainsunderexplored. This study aims to conduct a systematic review of how 3D printing is beingused to produce educational materials in Brazilian elementary schools and to assess its rolein improving children's learning. The present review use PRISMA approach to cover the lastfive years of national scientific productions, analysing 3D printing’s utility as a didactic toolfor improving learning outcomes, particularly in biology, chemistry, and physics. Theimplementation of this technology faces several challenges, such as high costs, lack oftechnical expertise among teachers, and limited resources in public schools. Despite thesechallenges, 3D printing shows potential as a transformative educational tool, encouragingactive learning, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Our research underscores the need formore investment in teacher training and school infrastructure to expand the use of thisinnovative technology in Brazilian education. The study concludes that 3D printing not onlyenhances engagement and comprehension in various subjects but also promotes inclusivityby making complex concepts accessible to the students.
