Eco-taxonomical studies on diatoms from the Godavari River, Nashik, Maharashtra

The study focused on evaluating the taxonomic details and geographic distribution of the periphytic genera Achnanthes, Navicula, Pinnularia, Gyrosigma, Cyclotella, Fragilaria Pleurosigma, Stausroneis, Anomoeoneis, Amphora, Cymbella, Anomoeoneis, Stauroneis, Neidium and Caloneis in various parts of Godavari River. Over the course of three years from January 2022 to December 2024, sample were gathered from multiple sites around the dam. Findings include the identification of 01 species of Achnanthes, Caloneis, Amphora, Stauroneis, Anomoeoneis, Stausroneis, Neidium, Pleurosigm, Anomoeoneis and Cyclotella, 09 species of Navicula, 08 species of Pinnularia, 05 species of Gyrosigma, 03 species of Fragilaria and Cymbella, all of which were documented for the first time in this location.
