Review on: India's Initiative on Renewable Energy for Sustainable development through solar projects
The primary goal of shifting from non-renewable to renewable energy is to achieve sustainable development in various forms, including socio-economic growth, energy security, environmental conservation, and climate change mitigation. The transition to renewable energy is crucial in preventing the catastrophic effects of climate change. Sustainable development becomes achievable when countries adopt clean and renewable energy sources. India has made significant policy commitments and economic advancements, placing it 4th globally in the renewable energy market. Both Union and State governments, in collaboration with the private sector, are working towards large-scale renewable energy projects to help India achieve carbon neutrality by 2070. While India lacks abundant conventional energy sources, it is naturally rich in renewable energy resources. It is well established that sustainable development is impossible without transitioning to renewable energy for overall national progress.
