A Unified Wireless Charging System for High-Voltage and Auxiliary EV Batteries Using Solar and Grid Power Integration
This paper proposes a novel integrated solution for wireless electric vehicle (EV) fast charging, combining solar energy and grid power. The system features a wireless charging system (WCS) for high-voltage (HV) power batteries and an auxiliary power module (APM) for low-voltage (LV) batteries, both utilizing similar power conversion processes. Central to the design is the use of a shared magnetic coupler, compensation network, and power electronics converter to streamline and enhance performance. A distinctive aspect of the APM is its coupling coil with reverse windings, designed to interact with the receiving coil while avoiding interference with the transmitting coil of the WCS. To facilitate efficient power transfer from the HV battery to the LV battery, a high-frequency wireless dual active bridge converter is implemented. MATLAB simulations confirm the efficacy of the proposed system, demonstrating improved operational efficiency and robustness in EV fast charging applications.
