Ectropy; a Fundamental Organizing Principle within Open Systems ~ Complementary to Entropy
Throughout the history of scientific progress, there comes a point when a novel idea ceases to be mere speculation and becomes a necessary addition to our understanding of nature. This document presents ectropy, not as a counterpart to entropy, but as a fundamental principle that enriches our perspective on the interplay between order and chaos. Our journey toward consolidating ectropy as a scientifically verifiable quantity has led to the development of the Sital-MI Lagrangian, a mathematical framework that not only describes ectropy but also makes it empirically testable. This work proposes a paradigm shift in how we understand physical reality, complex systems, and emergent intelligence. We frame ectropy, the tendency of systems to generate order, as a fundamental organizing principle within open systems, complementary to entropy.
