Thermal Conductivity Analysis of Locally Available Building Materials for Sustainable Housing in Africa
This research explores the thermal conductivity of traditional building materials commonly used in Ghana, such as mud bricks, cement blocks, and thatch panels. By conducting experimental measurements, the study identifies affordable and sustainable alternatives for housing construction, particularly in regions experiencing rising temperatures due to climate change. The findings emphasize the potential of indigenous materials to support climate-resilient development and improve living conditions in African communities. This work contributes to the ongoing search for sustainable, low-cost, and energy-efficient building solutions across the continent.
