EFFECTIVENESS OF SCHOOL LEARNING ACTION CELL (LAC) AMONG SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN NORTHWEST DISTRICT OF THE CITY SCHOOLS DIVISION OF ILAGAN

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the School Learning Action Cell (SLAC) among secondary schools in the Northwest District of the City Schools Division of Ilagan during the school year 2022-2023. Using a descriptive research design and quantitative methods, the study evaluated teachers' content knowledge and instructional performance before and after attending SLAC sessions. Fifty secondary teachers and 255 Grade 9 students served as respondents. Findings revealed a significant improvement in teachers' content knowledge and instructional performance after the conduct of SLAC, as well as a notable increase in students' academic achievement. Despite minor challenges, such as a lack of ICT knowledge and funding, SLAC was generally effective. The study recommends continued SLAC implementation, teacher training in ICT, proper scheduling to avoid class disruption, and additional funding for SLAC activities. Future researchers are encouraged to expand the study’s scope for more comprehensive results.
