The Interaction of Economics and Geopolitics
This paper explores the intricate relationship between economics and geopolitics, examining the historical evolution of geopolitical concepts and their relevance today. The decline of classical geopolitics coincided with the end of colonialism in the late 20th century, leading to the emergence of new independent states, particularly in Central Asia. The research delves into the contributions of scholars such as Ratzel and Haushofer, who laid the theoretical foundations of geopolitics, and the subsequent implications for state sovereignty and international relations. The paper also addresses the contemporary challenges faced by newly independent states in maintaining stability and security amid changing geopolitical dynamics. The study concludes that the geopolitical landscape is continuously evolving, with ideologies and power structures shaping global interactions and policies. The ongoing "war of ideologies" suggests that the struggle for influence and control remains a critical aspect of modern geopolitics.
