GENDER MAINSTREAMING LANDSCAPE OF DepEd DISTRICT OF SAN MATEO, ISABELA
The study aimed to assess the current level of gender mainstreaming in the DepEd District of San Mateo, Isabela, focusing on policy, people, enabling mechanisms, and programs, activities, and projects (PAPs). Using a descriptive-evaluative research design, the research employed both quantitative and qualitative methods, gathering data through surveys and structured interviews with stakeholders. The Gender Mainstreaming Evaluation Framework (GMEF) provided a basis for quantifying gender integration across identified dimensions. Descriptive statistics summarized the GMEF scores, while thematic analysis of interview data enriched quantitative findings with insights into the experiences and challenges faced by stakeholders. Results revealed that while foundational structures for gender mainstreaming exist, areas like policy enhancement and increased GAD (Gender and Development) expertise are needed for deeper institutional integration. The study concluded with recommendations to strengthen gender mainstreaming efforts, with the aim to create a more inclusive and equitable educational environment that aligns with national and international gender equality goals.
